General Announcement to www.amrs.net.au Visitors
Since January 2007, the Australian Motor Racing Series website has had over 4 million hits. 226,000 pages on the AMRS site have been viewed in that period. Over 40 gigabytes of data have been downloaded from the site in that time.
There is a new and improved look planned for the site in the near future, but the thing that keeps visitors coming back is content. And largely, www.amrs.net.au relies on you for that content.
Results, championship standings, event details and entry forms are taken care of internally, we upload photos when they are available, but with just under 200 competitors having taken part in the AMRS so far in 2007, it is simply not possible for www.amrs.net.au to write stories on each and every competitor.
So, what does all of this mean to you?
For the competitors, it means that we're relying on you to provide press releases or content you would like included on the site. To get your message across to the plentiful visitors to the site, you need to supply information and photos to the site - you have the opportunity to get additional exposure for your sponsors, and potentially catch the eye of new sponsors who might be visiting the site.
For the fans, if you have a story you'd like to share about your experience at an Australian Motor Racing Series round, send it in, and we'll include suitable stories on the site. If you have photos you'd like to see on the site, send them too, and if you have your own online photo album you'd like us to link to we can add it to the links page.
For everyone, if you have suggestions for the site, or something new you would like to see included, send it through. Now is the time for innovations to be incorporated into the next generation of www.amrs.net.au
To all those competitors who have been supplying content for the site, we thank you, and look forward to receiving more. To those planning to submit more content to the site, thank you.
All submissions to the site should be sent via email to: webmaster@amrs.net.au
And to everyone else, keep enjoying www.amrs.net.au!

Hot on the heels of his outstanding debut tarmac circuit racing performance, Kangaroo Kid, Matt Coulter looks set to secure support from beach-themed restaurant chain Hooters for a campaign in Oz BOSS.
Coulter plans to join the Oz BOSS ranks on board his ex-Eddie Cheever, 2002 Dallara IndyCar. Based on his outstanding performance in the ex-Natalie Willmington Mitsubishi Magna Production Touring Car at Queensland Raceway, Coulter should be a strong contender for outright honours. He is a multiple quad bike champion in competition around the world, and most famous for his antics jumping anything that stands still for long enough on his quad bike.
Expect a full report soon, once the full details are announced. An artists impression of Coulter's IndyCar in Hooters colours is included right.

Qualifying Report - Round 4 - Queensland Raceway: Hanger Responds to Challenge
Ty Hanger, current Oz BOSS Championship leader has responded to the challenge laid down before Round 4 of the season in the strongest possible way, by taking a convincing pole position.
Oz BOSS newcomer, Chris Gilmour set the early pace at Queensland Raceway, lapping fastest in the first unofficial practice session. Hanger responded though, setting a blinding time of 1m06.9s on only his twelfth lap of the circuit. Gilmour improved his time, but was unable to match the pace of Hanger. Hanger's teammate, Chris Farrell has consistently been 3rd fastest, in his 2001 Swift 014.a Formula Atlantic, and in the Formula R ranks, Chris Smith has been the pacesetter in his Dallara F398.
Hanger will start from pole for the rolling start of the first race, with Gilmour alongside. The strong field should be joined by Mathew Fox from the final grid position after his Reynard 92D failed to set a time during qualifying, due to a faulty engine sensor. The sensor has been replaced, and Fox is expected to have a strong run from the rear of the grid.
All the action gets underway at 9.30am, with the 12 lap Race One, and Race Two (16 laps) is scheduled for 1.40pm. The weather is forecast to be fine and cool, and the on-track action is forecast to be hot and frantic. Get yourself to Queensland Raceway, just outside Ipswich to catch all the action.

Who's the BOSS? New Outright Contender Set to Ruffle Feathers in Oz BOSS
Ty Hanger, Formula 4000 runner up in 2005 and 2006, has had things his own way so far in the 2007 Oz BOSS Championship. Despite strong competition, Hanger has won every race, and currently leads the championship. But things are set to change as the series heads to Queensland Raceway, and Formula Three contender Chris Gilmour joins the fray.
Gilmour placed second in the 2004 Formula Three Championship, and has placed in the top four every year since then. Gilmour will be driving his 2004 model Dallara F304 (pictured right), and will be supported by his Queensland-based team.
Whilst Round Four of the Oz BOSS Championship will be the first time a late-model Formula Three car has gone head-to-head with a Formula 3000V6, and the other machines that make up the Oz BOSS field, a quick comparison of Hanger's and Gilmour's cars is possible by looking at laptimes from last season. Ty Hanger's best laptime around Queensland Raceway in qualifying for Round 2 of the 2006 Oz BOSS Championship was in the 1m08s bracket. Gilmour, using the sticky Kumho F3 control tyres set a time in the 1m07s. This year Hanger will be using the stickier Dunlop control tyres, so the cars should be very evenly matched.
It's all adding up to make for an outstanding battle in the strengthened Oz BOSS field at Queensland Raceway. The cars make their way onto the circuit for unofficial practice Friday 15 June, official practice and qualifying will be held Saturday 16 June, and racing will take place Sunday 17 June. Keep an eye on the official AMRS website: www.amrs.net.au for all the latest news and information.

New Sub-Category for Oz BOSS
The Australian Motor Racing Series is all about providing motor racing that is exciting, affordable and accessible. The categories in the series are all aimed at keeping costs down, and ensuring that car owners that otherwise may have no viable place to race are catered for. And so, it fits well with the philosophy of the series to announce the inclusion of a brand new subcategory within the Oz BOSS ranks.
Formula R is an open wheeler category that is striking a balance between performance and expense. It uses existing (F3 and F2) chassis, with cost-controlled, spec-controlled engines. Make no mistake, the cars are fast - among the fastest in the country. But in terms of expenditure versus performance, the cars of Formula R are punching well above their weight.
Terry Robertson is the brains behind the category, ably assisted by his son Warwick, and both are very excited about its national debut at Queensland Raceway is just over a week. Formula R is expected to boast 8 entries at its very first event, and the cars will run within the Oz BOSS field, the total field exceeding 13 entries, with the possibility of upto 20 cars taking the grid!
For more information on Formula R, visit the official website: www.formula-robertson.com
For all the latest Oz BOSS news, check out: www.ozboss.net, and for all the latest on the Australian Motor Racing Series: www.amrs.net.au
All the action at Queensland Raceway gets underway 16 - 17 June.

Hanger Triumphs in Wild Weather at Winton
New South Welshman, Ty Hanger braved the elements at Winton Raceway to take a clean sweep in the POWRgard Mouthguards Round Three of the 2007 Oz BOSS Championship. A diverse and quality field challenged for the victory, but it was Hanger who prevailed when it counted.
QUALIFYING
For the qualifying session held on Saturday afternoon, Ty Hanger almost didn't make it onto the circuit. He had set the pace during Friday practice, but a family issue saw him fly to Sydney on Friday evening. Ty made it back to country Victoria in time to strap into his Reynard 95D for qualifying though, and using his new Dunlop control tyres to full effect, he grabbed pole position.
Taking the challenge up to Hanger though was experienced racer Bob Muir, in his Lexus V8-powered Reynard 94D. Muir using the power of the 4-litre V8 to set a competitive time. Next up was Chris Farrell in his maiden outing in his new acquisition - a 2001 Swift Formula Atlantic. The ground-effect car, featuring enormous tunnels, didn't take Farrell long to acclimatise to, and he was pleased with setting a competitive time. Fourth on the grid was newcomer to the category Chris Shearer, in a Dallara F396 Formula 3 car. On the next row of the grid was Les Crampton, driving his Reynard 97D with a newly installed multi throttle-body and camshaft package, providing more power from the Holden Alloytech powerplant. Next to Crampton was another newcomer, Andrew McCarthy in a RALT RT4 Formula Atlantic. Matthew Fox and Bob Rieschl shared the fourth row of the grid in their FUEL2RACE Fox Motorsport team cars. Sam Dale missed qualifying, with a minor engine malady, but his team was confident of joining the field at the rear of the grid.
RACE ONE
Sunday morning saw most teams with their eyes on the sky. Heavy rain had hit the circuit overnight, and while it had abated as everyone arrived at the track, the skies looked threatening. The forecast predicted rain throughout the day, with possible thunderstorms in the afternoon.
For the first race, the forecast proved correct, with heavy rain falling before the race began, making the use of wet tyres a foregone conclusion. As the cars moved out for the warmup laps, the rain increased, and the circuit was saturated. The rolling start set a few hearts racing, with the massive wall of spray reducing visibility for the second half of the field to virtually zero. (Click here to view the onboard video from Sam Dale's car for a graphic demonstration.) Pole-sitter Hanger, with a clear track ahead, and a clear view of the 'wetter' patches, was able to establish a good lead, and hold it. Behind Hanger, Chris Shearer moved his F3 Dallara up into an outstanding 2nd place, Bob Muir was 3rd and Chris Farrell 4th. Debutante Bob Reischl started out well - his first race in a F3000V6 car, and it was in the pouring rain! Behind Reischl was Sam Dale, who had moved up from the rear of the field, to cross the line in 6th at the end of the first lap. Next up was
Andrew McCarthy in the RALT RT4, and behind him was a cautious Matthew Fox in his Reynard 92D. Les Crampton had a first lap spin, and was at the rear of the field after the first lap.
Shearer's excellent performance was short lived though, he was out of the race on lap two, meanwhile Bob Reischl suffered two off-track excursions, the second putting him out of the race after he hit the turn 10 barriers and damaged two wheels. The safety car was deployed to allow the marshalls to clear Reischl's RALT, and Hanger's lead was negated. At the restart, most of the field elected to tip-toe through the first corner, that is except Les Crampton, who saw his chance and made a run around the outside of Dale and Farrell to move into third place. By the end of the lap, Dale had passed Farrell, and the order was: Hanger, Muir, Crampton, Dale, Farrell, McCarthy and Fox. The following lap, Muir suffered a spin, and dropped to 6th place. Farrell also lost a spot to the older Formula Atlantic of Andrew McCarthy. As the race neared completion, the order remained static, with Sam Dale closely following Les Crampton, and attempting a number of challenges for second, but with reduced visibility was forced to settle for third.
RACE TWO
The rain passed after the first race, and slowly but surely a dry line appeared. The teams were again looking skyward. The radar picture indicated another band of rain was on its way, but it wasn't clear if it would arrive in time to affect the second race. In the end all cars appeared with slick tyres fitted, and the track remained dry throughout the race.
Ty Hanger led the field away from pole position, with Crampton alongside. Despite his power advantage, Crampton was unable to better Hanger, and slotted into 2nd, with Sam Dale close behind in 3rd. The real winner from the start was Bob Muir, using all the power of his Lexus V8 to move up to 4th at the end of the first lap. Behind Muir it was Farrell, Shearer, McCarthy and Reischl. Matthew Fox joined the field on the warmup laps, but suffered a diffuser problem, and was forced to retire.
In the early laps, Hanger assumed a comfortable lead, but all the action was behind him, with Crampton, Dale, Muir and Farrell in a ding-dong, four car battle. Dale was down on power from the same engine problem that had kept him out of qualifying, meanwhile Muir suffered no such problems, passing Dale at the end of the main straight on lap two. Farrell also moved past Dale at the end of the back straight on the following lap. The group continued to circulate in close company until Dale retired on lap 5 with a broken throttle cable. Muir passed Crampton the following lap, and despite very close racing for the remainder of the race, the order remained unchanged until the chequered flag. The final order: Hanger, Muir, Crampton,
Farrell, Shearer and McCarthy, with Bob Reischl retiring late in the race.
The final result saw Ty Hanger triumphant, with Les Crampton taking second spot on the podium, and Bob Muir third. Hanger took out the F3000V6 class honours, Farrell Formula Atlantic, Crampton Oz BOSS and Shearer Formula 3.
The next round of the 2007 Oz BOSS Championship will be held at Queensland Raceway, 16-17 June.
All the action from this round will screen on SBS Speedweek Sunday May 27, at 12 noon. As always, check your local TV guide for details.

Oz BOSS - Diversity is Strength - Round Three Preview
A rejuvenated and diverse Oz BOSS field is set to take the grid at Benalla's Winton Raceway this weekend, with returning drivers as well as some new challengers joining.
Always a strong performer, and with a particularly good record at Winton, Central-Coast plumber, Ty Hanger is likely to be at the front of the field, as he heads into the round leading the championship. Hanger started the year in his RALT RT4 Formula Atlantic, but switched to the Reynard 95D for Round Two at Calder. Hanger will again be aboard the Powrgard Mouthguards backed Reynard at Winton.
A recent and exciting addition to the Oz BOSS field is veteran Bob Muir. His Lexus V8-powered Reynard 94D is a magnificent car, and as the package is fine-tuned, Bob will steadily move up the grid. The V8 engine delivers an outstanding sound, and packs plenty of punch.
Matthew Fox had an outing to forget at Calder, heavy contact with the wall taking out just about every corner of the car. Fox is back however, stronger than ever, with an expanded, two-car outfit for Winton. Fox will lead the newly renamed FUEL2RACE Fox Motorsport team in his ex-Clearihan Reynard 92D, and will be joined by FUEL2RACE proprietor Bob Rieschl in the RALT RT23.
Adding to the diversity in the Oz BOSS field will be regular competitor Chris Farrell. Farrell has previously campaigned a RALT RT4 Formula Atlantic as well as a Spirit Honda Formula One in the Oz BOSS Championship. And now, Farrell will bring an exciting new car to the grid - a 2002 Swift Formula Atlantic 014.a, powered by a 4 cylinder Toyota engine. Keep an eye out for Farrell as the pace of the Powrgard Mouthguards sponsored late-model Formula Atlantic, relative to the regular runners is somewhat of an unknown.
Some more new additions to the category at Winton will be Andrew McCarthy, Chris Shearer and Greg Hede. McCarthy will be driving a RALT RT4 Formula Atlantic, and as has been demonstrated by Ty Hanger and Chris Farrell, these cars have the pace to take outright victories, so keep an eye on McCarthy. Chris Shearer will be the first competitor to race a Formula Three car in the Oz BOSS championship - watch out for his Dallara F396. And Greg Hede will be hard to miss - he will be driving a Speads RM07, sponsored by Sharp Weapons. The Speads is similar to the WEST racer seen in Thunder Sports, in that it uses a motorcycle derived powerplant. The car itself is based on a 2001 Ferrari Formula One car.
Returning to the Oz BOSS championship is Queenslander, Les Crampton. He will pilot his 97D Reynard, modified to Oz BOSS outright specs, with a mutli-throttle body setup - the increased power from the Holden V6 should see Crampton duking it out with Bob Muir in his V8-powered car. Also in a Reynard, but with the F3000V6 engine package, Sam Dale will be looking forward to a good showing in his mumboracing.com Reynard 94D before missing a number of rounds while overseas with work commitments.
All in all, an extremely diverse and competitive field for Round Three of the 2007 Oz BOSS Championship. The cars will hit the track Friday 27 April for unofficial practice, then qualifying Saturday 28 April and racing Sunday 29.

Media Awareness Seminar to be held at Round Two
One part of racing that many drivers don't enjoy is interviews. It's easy to get nervous, or forget what you wanted to say (or which sponsors you wanted to mention), or give less than eloquent responses to some of the interviewer's questions. But if you can get it right, an interview will mean better exposure for you as a driver, for your team and for your sponsors. As many drivers in the top echelons of motorsport will attest, training in how to deal with the media is an important and valuable process.
As part of the Australian Motor Racing Series' ongoing committment to driver development, there will be a Media Awareness Seminar held at Round Two at Calder Park. Attendance at the seminar is not compulsory (although encouraged), and is free to all competitors (and team members) for the round. Simon Latchford, AMRS competitor and accomplished public speaker will deliver his thoughts on dealing with the media - how to plan for an interview, what to do during an interview, and how to keep the media on-side and assist you with promotion of yourself and your sponsors.
This is an outstanding opportunity for competitors to develop their professional knowledge and skills and an excellent selling point for future sponsors ("I have completed media awareness training to ensure I present your company in the best possible light.") The seminar will be conducted at Calder Park, 1630 Saturday afternoon.
Round Two of the Australian Motor Racing Series will be held at Calder Park, 24-25 March.

The 2007 Formula 3000, powered by 500hp Mecachrome V8 |
Open wheel racing in the Australian Motor Racing Series has been reborn for 2007, with the ongoing growth of the Oz BOSS championship (for Big Open Single Seaters), and the re-launched F3000V6 category, for the Holden powered open-wheelers previously dubbed Formula Brabham, Formula Holden and most recently F4000.
An entirely new, and experienced team has taken the reins with F3000V6, with the aim of bringing big single seaters back to prominence in Australia. The category also aims to provide a viable and realistic path for talented young Australian drivers to progress through the ranks and eventually to Europe.
And the following announcement should be music to the ears of young drivers eager to crack into the big time of International Open Wheeler racing like GP2, A1GP, Champ Car and Formula 1.
F3000V6 have negotiated a partnership arrangement with the Euro F3000 series, and as a part of this arrangement, the winner of the Australian F3000V6 Championship will be awarded a full day test drive in a 500hp Euro F3000 car.
The partnership sees F3000V6 as a feeder class into the Euro F3000 series, contested by such famous names in open wheel motor sport as Minardi & Fisichella Motor Sport, as well as a number of teams who also contest the GP2 championship. The Euro F3000 series visits five of the European F1 circuits as part of its 8 round, 16 race championship.
The winner of the Euro F3000 championship is awarded a test drive in either a GP2 or F1 car.
Also, as a further part of the partnership between F3000V6 and Euro F3000, there will be two seats made available to F3000V6 young guns in the Euro F3000 series for 2008.
Drivers already committed to the 2007 F3000V6 Championship include Sydney drivers Adam Proctor and Grant Doulman, Italian Davide Amaduzzi, Canberran Matthew Fox, as well as many others. There are a limited number of seats still available, drivers interested in pursuing a path to Europe should visit www.f3000v6.com
The first round of the 2007 F3000V6 Championship will take place this weekend, as part of the first round of the 2007 Australian Motor Racing Series, at Goulburn's Wakefield Park, 24-25 February.
6 February 2007
Change of Direction for Proctor in ‘07:
After spending the past few years in Formula Vee and Australian Touring Car Challenge competition with considerable success, Adam Proctor will this year join the F3000V6 category in the Australian Motor Racing Series (AMRS) driving an ex Paul Stewart Racing Reynard 95D and he is more than looking forward to his change in direction.
Recently 24-year-old Proctor underwent his first test session in the Reynard 95D at Goulburn’s Wakefield Park Raceway (NSW), which is incidentally the circuit that is to host the opening round of the AMRS on February 24 – 25, and despite only managing a total of 30 laps around the 2.2km circuit, he was rapt with his initiation to the F3000V6, that will be incorporated within the Oz BOSS category.
“We didn’t do too many laps, but from the ones we did there was plenty of early promise shown, and it’s all just a matter of me adjusting to the characteristics as they are nothing like I have ever driven before,” Proctor said.
“The speeds of these cars [F3000V6] is quite unbelievable as they have so much speed out of the corners it’s like nothing else, and one area that will take some getting used to is the aerodynamics package and feeling confident that it will carry you through those high speed corners.”
In terms of the plans for the year ahead, Proctor is taking each round as it comes, and strongly believes that the F3000V6 category is a wonderful concept.
“Our plan is to contest the opening rounds of the AMRS and assess everything from there, which includes how we are performing and naturally our budget,” admitted Proctor.
“The F3000V6 category gives me the closest opportunity to ever racing a Formula One car that I’m ever going to get, and it’s something I’m very much looking forward to without a doubt.”
Chinese earthmoving equipment suppliers, Shantui and Lishide, have thrown their support behind Proctor and will act as the naming rights sponsors for his 2007 assault.
Aside from his AMRS commitments, Proctor is also planning to contest selected Formula Vee events throughout the year.
“F3000V6 is my main focus for the year, but I also want to continue competing in Formula Vee but at a smaller capacity,” Proctor added.
30 January 2007
Imagine a series that provides big power, big slicks, big wings, big open wheel racing, technology, competition, passion and style, mixing high tech motor sport, with affordability, that is what F3000V6 is all about.
Established in 1989, the cars were originally dubbed Formula Brabham, Formula Holden and most recently F4000. This year within the Oz BOSS Championship, our Australian series has re-launched itself under a new name "F3000V6". The series in 2007 has a totally new management team focused on its growth, working with our sponsors, Teams, Drivers and the media.
In 2007 our series together with the Australian Motor Racing Series will continue to grow in its development with many new positive changes being implemented. The aim of the F3000V6 series is to provide a realistic path for young talented open wheel racers coming up the ranks of Karting and junior single seaters in search of an A1, Champ Car or even a F1 seat. Our cars are very similar in spec to the Asian Renault V6, World Series Renault V6, EURO F3000, F3000 Int, GP2 and will act as a feeder to the above mentioned series.
For 2007, F3000V6 will run as a sub-category within the Oz BOSS Championship. To keep the racing affordable, the regulations have been frozen, and the regulations applicable in the last year the car competed will be the authoritative document. The cars will run control Dunlop tyres, and are expected to threaten in 2007 the numerous lap records set by the cars previously.
The first round of the Championship will be held at Goulburn's Wakefield Park circuit, February 24-25. For more information about the AMRS, visit the official website: www.amrs.net.au to learn more about the Oz BOSS Championship, visit: www.ozboss.net, and to find out all about the F3000V6 sub-category, visit: www.f3000v6.com

Oz BOSS 2007 Technical and Sporting Rules available
The 2007 Oz BOSS Technical and Sporting Rules have been available for a number of weeks for download from the Competitor Info section of the site. There are minimal changes from last year, with the main changes regarding the definition and recognition of sub-categories within Oz BOSS, control tyres, and an alternate race format that may be used during the year.
Sub Categories
Oz BOSS provides a stage for a vast array of big open single seater cars to compete. Cars from Formula 1, Formula 3000 V6, Formula 3000, Formula Nippon, Formula 5000, Formula Atlantic, Formula 3, CART, Champ Car, IndyCar, Indy Lights and ANF2 are all eligible. All cars from the sub-categories are eligible for outright Oz BOSS honours. To preserve the integrity of the sub-categories, the rules have been frozen and the rules from the last year the car competed in it's particular sub-category will apply. In order for the winner of a particular sub-category to be eligible for a first place trophy, there must be at least three competitors within that sub-category. In order for first, second and third place trophies to be awarded, there must be at least six competitors in the sub-category. The same criteria apply for the sub-category championships.
For the competitors who are only interested in outright honours, the rules are quite liberal, granting a number of freedoms that are aimed at gaining the best performance but also keeping costs down. Competitors who do decide to deviate from the sub-category rules that may have applied to their car will be eligible only for Oz BOSS outright, and not for the particular sub-category.
Control Tyres
Dunlop has been awarded control tyre status for the 2007 Championship. Tyres will be available for F3000V6 cars, and Formula Atlantic cars from Dunlop. F3 cars have been granted automatic exemption to run Kumho tyres. In the event a suitable Dunlop tyre is not available (due to size availability) an alternative tyre may be nominated. The Dunlop tyre was used for the majority of Formula Holden lap records, so the use of these tyres should see a performance gain from 2006.
Alternate Race Format
Within the Sporting Rules, the default race format differs very little from the format used in 2006 - Race One is a rolling start, sprint race (around 15 minutes duration), Race Two is a standing start, feature race (around 25 minutes duration). The provision to use an alternative race format has also been included, and this may be used at up to 2 rounds if the competitors are in favour - the alternate race format is a single race - as long as the normal Race One and Race Two combined (around 35-40 minutes total), featuring a standing start.
The rules are aimed at providing strong fields, close racing and competition within sub-categories and for outright honours. The further aim is to keep costs to an affordable level. To download the 2007 Oz BOSS Technical and Sporting Rules, click here.
Round One of the 2007 Oz BOSS Championship gets underway at Goulburn's Wakefield Park, February 24-25. International Flavour in Oz BOSS Championship
Gun Italian driver Davide Amaduzzi made quite an impact in the 2006 Formula 4000 Championship at the selected rounds he competed in. Amaduzzi's pace, right from his very first appearance was impressive, and he was able to take the challenge right up to the top guns of the series. In 2007, Amaduzzi will return to Australian circuits in the Oz BOSS Championship, and this time around he is intent on doing all the rounds, and intent on making his mark on the Championship.
Amaduzzi has negotiated a drive with the New South Wales-based Mumbo Racing outfit. The team secured 3rd and 4th positions in the 2006 Formula 4000 Championship, with Sam Dale and Matthew Fox respectively. Dale plans to drive his Reynard 94D at as many rounds as possible (he will unfortunately miss a couple of rounds due to overseas work commitments). Amaduzzi will be taking the seat vacated by Fox (who has acquired two cars, and plans to run his own team), and plans to run in the same colours as Dale.
Amaduzzi has a strong history in International motorsport, he was a national karting champion in his home country, progressed quickly through Formula 2000 and Formula 3, he moved into Formula Renault, and has tested a number of Formula One cars. Amaduzzi knows what it takes to drive a big open single seater fast, and he proved that in the Team Sydney Reynard in 2006. For 2007, expect fireworks from the friendly Italian as he joins the Mumbo Racing squad. For more information on Davide Amaduzzi, visit his website: www.davideamaduzzi.com
Round one of the 2007 Oz BOSS Championship will be Amaduzzi's first drive with the Mumbo Racing team, and will take place at Goulburn's Wakefield Park circuit, 24-25 February. Proctor to Feel the Earth Move in 2007
Sydney based racer Adam Proctor is fired up for the 2007 Oz BOSS Championship, and the move from a Volkswagen powered Formula Vee to a Holden powered Formula 3000 V6 has Proctor eagerly anticipating the first round.
Proctor has acquired an ex-Paul Stewart Racing Formula 3000, and the car has been converted to Formula 3000 V6 spec, with a 3.6 litre Holden Alloytech V6 engine. Proctor has
secured backing from two Chinese earthmoving equipment suppliers - Shantui and Lishide. The Reynard has been painted in striking yellow and black livery, and is certain to get plenty of attention from the other competitors, and the fans.
2007 won't be the first time Proctor has driven a V6 powered car - the most recent being a V6 powered Ford Mondeo in the Australian Touring Car Challenge. Proctor started his racing career in go karts at age 15 in 1997. He won the Wollongong Club Championship in '98, and continued a string of race wins and title placings. In 2000, Adam was victorious in the NSW
Rotax Light State Series. Adam then moved into Formula Vee, in his debut year achieving 9th in the NSW series, taking out rookie of the year, and setting the lap record at Wakefield Park. In 2002, Adam finished fourth in the NSW F Vee Championship, and followed that up with fifth in 2003, in the new spec 1600cc class. In 2004, Adam finished second in the NSW FVee State Championship, taking 6 pole positions, 8 race wins and 1 lap record on the way. He was victorious in the NSW Division 1 Championship, with 10 race wins, and was on the podium for every event he contested in 2004.
In 2005, Adam started the Touring Car Challenge season in the Mumbo Racing Nissan Primera 95, finishing third outright at round one, and coming home first Super Tourer. In late 2005, Adam took to the circuit in a Formula Vee again, winning the final round of the NSW State Championship, and finishing third at the 2005 Formula Vee Nationals, qualifying second and winning all heat races on the way to the final. Adam again secured good results in Formula Vee in 2006. Proctor has certainly proved his racing credentials, and should prove a force to be reckoned with in Oz BOSS and the Formula 3000 V6 sub-category.
The first round of the 2007 Oz BOSS Championship will see Adam Proctor's debut appearance in the Reynard 95D F3000V6, and the category will also play host to a variety of single seater race cars, with Formula 1, Champ Car, IndyCar, Formula 3000, Formula Nippon, Formula 5000, Formula Atlantic and Formula 3 all eligible. The first round for 2007 will be held at Goulburn's Wakefield Park circuit, February 24-25. The Quick Fox
Matthew Fox is set to run his own two-car Formula 3000 V6 team in 2007.
Fox turned plenty of heads in the 2006 Formula 4000 Championship, on his way to fourth place outright. Driving the Mumbo Racing Reynard 91D, Fox put in some impressive performances, and continually improved throughout the year. Heading into 2007, Fox has acquired two cars - a 92D Reynard, and a RALT from fellow Canberran, Terry Clearihan. Fox plans to run both cars in the 2007 Oz BOSS Championship, driving the Reynard himself, with another driver (there are several in contention) in the RALT.
Pictured here is Fox's Reynard at a pre-season test session at Wakefield Park, running in it's 2006 livery - for 2007 both cars are set to run in all-black livery, with gold details, reminiscent of the JPS-era Lotus. The cars will certainly be striking, and Matthew's strong background in the category is sure to see him perform well. Fox has a background initially driving HQ Holdens, before he progressed to Australian F2, Historics, Super Tourers and the MoPro Cup Daewoo series. His drive in 2006 with the Mumbo Racing outfit is a clear standout, and Matthew is planning to continue the upward trend.
Round One of the 2007 Oz BOSS Championship will take place at Goulburn's Wakefield Park, February 24-25. To learn more about Matthew Fox, visit his homepage: www.foxmotorsport.com.au For more information about the lineup of categories competing at Wakefield Park, visit the official series website: www.amrs.net.au, and for all the inside info on Oz BOSS, check out: www.ozboss.net

News Cars to Battle it out for Oz BOSS in 2007
Ty Hanger drove his Reynard 95D ex-Formula 3000 to win the Oz BOSS Championship in 2006, and in 2007 he will be defending his title aboard a different car - Hanger's 2-litre BDA powered Ralt RT4 Formula Atlantic has taken him to victory in a number of events, and he's hoping it can do the same in Oz BOSS for 2007.
Among those hoping to make it hard for Hanger will be Matthew Fox. Fox drove a Reynard 91D for Mumbo Racing in 2006, taking 4th overall in the Oz BOSS Championship. For 2007, Fox has acquired the ex-Terry Clearihan outfit, and will field two cars - a Reynard 92D, and a RALT F4000. The latter car will be driven by an as yet unnamed driver, while Fox will steer the Reynard, intending to improve on his 4th ranking.
No stranger to open-wheelers, but a newcomer to Oz BOSS is young Sydney driver Adam Proctor. After tasting Formula Vee success most recently in 2006, Proctor has acquired an ex-Paul Stewart Racing F3000, and the car has been fitted with a 3.6L Holden Alloytech V6 in readiness for an assault on the 2007 Oz BOSS Championship. Proctor has secured sponsorship from Chinese Earthmoving Equipment firms Shantui and Lishide. Proctor's Reynard 95D will take the grid in black and yellow warpaint, and will be one to watch out for.
Another name familiar to fans of open-wheeler racing (and touring car racing for that matter) in Australia is Bob Muir. Muir enjoyed a brief foray into Formula 4000 during 2005 aboard a Reynard 95D. The car has since become host to a Toyota/Lexus 4-litre quad-cam V8. Early testing with an unmodified (road-car) engine has been extremely promising, and Muir can't wait to drive the car with the full-blown race engine (with around double the power). Muir was a gun in the F5000 days, and it's expected he will definitely raise some eyebrows with his new steed (plus, we can't wait to hear the roar of the V8!).
After taking 3rd in the Oz BOSS Championship in 2006, Mumbo Racing driver Sam Dale will be returning to the championship in 2007. Whilst he would like to improve on his third place ranking, he has overseas committments for a couple of the rounds mid-season, so he will be going all out in the rounds he can attend during the year. The second Mumbo Racing car - a Reynard 91D is all set to return to the grid, with a couple of drivers vying for the seat.
Italian Davide Amaduzzi is reportedly very keen to join the field again in 2007, and will just need to juggle his European racing committments.
Team Sydney has expanded it's stable to two cars and is currently in the process of evaluating drivers for the seats.
Graham Watson, responsible for the preparation and engineering of the Formula 4000 championship winning cars in 2003, 2004 and 2005, is set to contest the Oz BOSS championship in 2007, in between his duties as an A1 Team Manager.
Round One of the 2007 Oz BOSS Championship will be held at Wakefield Park, 24-25 February. Keep up with all the news on the official website: www.ozboss.net

Round to Pingel, Championship to Hanger
Despite a concerted effort at the tail end of the Championship, Derek Pingel was unable to overhaul Ty Hanger for the Crown.
Pingel again employed the services of F1 engineer Barry Lock, in his efforts to take dual crowns - F4000 and Oz BOSS. By winning both races at Wakefield Park, Pingel secured the F4000 crown, but with Hanger right behind in both races, he was unable to gain enough points for the Oz BOSS crown.
In third for the round, Sam Dale and Davide Amaduzzi tied on points, after finishing nose-to-tail in both races - Dale 3rd in Race 1, and Amaduzzi taking 3rd in Race 2 after getting the jump with a blinding start.
Chris Farrell again fielded his immaculate Ralt RT-4, and proved it could mix it with the F4000s.

Pingel Brings Out the Big Guns at Calder
Derek Pingel was able to close the gap in the Oz BOSS Championship at Calder over the weekend, with a dominant performance in qualifying and both races.
From the outset it was clear Pingel was going to be the man to beat - having flown ex-F1 engineer Barry Lock in from Europe, Pingel demonstrated how serious he was to claw back the championship deficit at Calder. Pingel continually refined his setup, and ultimately had a car that was untouchable..
Ty Hanger endured a frustrating weekend, chasing setup, and unable to dial out the understeer in his Reynard 95D. Sam Dale had similar setup difficulties.
Most frustrated of all though was Chris Farrell. He had his Spirit Honda F1 car at Calder, and hoped to be the first F1 car to participate in Oz BOSS. After an excursion during Friday practice knocked a corner off the car, the team jumped into action and had the car fixed by the end of the day. On arrival on Saturday morning though, it was discovered the car had fuel bladder problems (with a brand new bladder), and would be unable to take any further part.

Hanger Stretches Championship Lead at Winton
Ty Hanger put on a dominant performance at Round Four of the 2006 Oz BOSS Championship, to take out the outright honours, with wins in both races. On the back of a round win at the previous round, Sam Dale took second place outright at Winton, followed by Queenslander Derek Pingel. Leading the class honours were Hanger in F4000, and Chris Farrell in Formula Atlantic. Farrell proved that despite a significant power deficit (from and engine approximately half the capacity of the F4000s), the mechanical and ground-effects induced grip of the Ralt makes it a strong contender up against the more modern cars.
Farrell is also the latest "Featured Driver" on the Oz BOSS website, click here to read the full article.

Sam Dale piloted his Mumbo Racing Reynard 94D Formula 4000 to Oz BOSS victory over the weekend, around the exciting Adelaide International Raceway layout.
Despite not winning either of the two races, Dale placed second in both, and amassed enough points to take out the round. Ty Hanger was the winner of race one, and took out second for the round, while Dale's teammate, Matthew Fox took out third in his Reynard 91D F4000.
